Jack stepped in last minute to help out on a high-volume CBeebies production and caught on quickly with what we were trying to achieve with the series.  As an editor, he’s a great combination of efficient and lovely to work with!  He understands the pressures of working to a tight schedule and what's required to deliver a project on time.  Jack is an excellent communicator which meant that there were no unexpected delays or nasty surprises.  He's also adept at crafting a strong narrative with little input.  I wouldn’t hesitate to use Jack on another production.

Common Story / CBeebies

Jack was the Head of Post Production at Cornucopia for 5 years and has continued to be our first choice editor for all our productions. Clients have included BBC Education, Tate, 45life.com, OECD, TES Global and the Open Society Foundations. He is creative and strong on narrative as well as being very quick and skilful across multiple editing platforms. Really importantly for us he has overseen deliverables for clients including BBC for whom there are multiple technical requirements. Personally, as lead producer and director, working with Jack is always a pleasure. He brings excellent judgement as well as editing skill and originality to every project, solving problems and making a cut work even when the material (and the director) needs help!

There are very few editors I would trust on any job, but Jack is able to get the measure of each project and treat them with a creativity and efficiency I've found hard to find elsewhere. It seems strange to refer to Jack just as an editor, as his approach to cutting is so collaborative - he understands why something has been filmed the way it has, and is able to intuit so much in the process that he constantly brings ideas to the table. Working with Jack, you have a creative partner by your side, one who can articulate clearly through editing what I've tried to capture in production. It's always exciting to get a V1 from Jack.

Jack is a very gifted editor both technically and as a storytelling filmmaker. He has the uncommon dual qualities of being extremely quick and agile when working to tight deadlines and having an instinct for nuanced, well crafted narrative. I have worked with Jack on a wide variety of projects from punchy 15 second social edits to character led short documentaries and everything in between. Whatever the project that comes through the door, Jack is the first editor I call.

Jack is a wonderfully gifted and collaborative editor with a great talent for storytelling. For 512 Hours he managed to familiarise himself with and navigate a staggering amount of footage in record time. His sense of timing, structure and attention to detail were key in successfully merging the perspectives of a vast amount of narrators into one compelling story. Even though present circumstances forced us to work remotely on the film, Jack has been very easy to communicate with and reassuringly balanced in his response to new ideas - always open to discussing and trying them out whilst keeping in mind the bigger picture. We couldn't be happier with the result of our collaboration and warmly recommend Jack for your upcoming projects.

Jack is a really talented editor and a pleasure to work with. He is an intelligent story teller, visually imaginative, and technically accomplished. He has an ear for dialogue and excellent music editing skills. He works quickly and thoughtfully, is patient, professional, and easy to collaborate with. I’ve worked with Jack regularly since 2015, it's always enjoyable, and I have no hesitation in recommending him.
